Ex-PUMA Designer Releases the “Perfect” Vegan Puffer Jacket From FUTUREFEAR

Former PUMA Women’s lead designer, Hyon Park, and his marketer husband, Mark Petrie, have introduced an exciting addition to the world of vegan fashion. Their brand, FUTUREFEAR, is making waves in the world of streetwear with its innovative FUTUREPUFFER collection.

Initially based in Berlin, FUTUREFEAR has found its new home in the vibrant South Korean capital, Seoul. The founders draw inspiration from the diverse fashion cultures of these two cities, infusing their creations with the essence of “queer- and vegan-friendly Berlin” and the “quality-driven perfectionism of Seoul.”

The standout piece in the FUTUREFEAR collection is the FUTUREPUFFER, a vegan puffer jacket that challenges the conventional eco-friendly design. Available in two variations, the waist-length SIGNATURE and the knee-length MAXI, these jackets redefine vegan fashion with their unique features. Both styles sport extra-long sleeves, dropped shoulders, and a wide back panel, providing a blend of style and functionality.

What sets FUTUREFEAR’s FUTUREPUFFER apart is its commitment to sustainability. The jackets are crafted using eco-conscious materials, such as 3M Thinsulate 100% Recycled Featherless, which serves as an alternative to traditional down insulation. This material is made from post-consumer recycled plastic, aligning with the brand’s eco-friendly ethos. Furthermore, recycled nylon from the Korean company Mipan is used for both the inner and outer layers, ensuring that the jackets are not just vegan-friendly but also sustainable.

FUTUREFEAR gained substantial Support when it launched on the crowdfunding platform Tumblbug in September, surpassing its initial funding target by a significant margin. The overwhelming response from backers led to the production of the FUTUREPUFFER jackets, handcrafted by skilled artisans in Seoul.

Hyon Park, the designer and co-founder of FUTUREFEAR, shared his motivation behind creating the FUTUREPUFFER: “My husband searched for years to find the perfect vegan puffer jacket that was fashionable and not too ‘eco-friendly’ in design. In the end, I decided to make it for him!” The brand’s core values of environmental consciousness and animal rights shine through in every aspect of their creations. FUTUREFEAR demonstrates that you can be stylish while prioritizing these important values.
