A major new report from the EU Agency for Fundamental Rights reveals a terrifying surge in violence and discrimination against intersex, trans, and non-binary people across Europe. The study — involving nearly 2,000 participants in 30 countries — shows that since 2019, harassment against intersex individuals has nearly doubled, from 42% to 74%. Even worse, 53% said they had contemplated suicide in the past year.

Intersex people face horrific abuses — from non-consensual surgeries and conversion “therapies” to physical and sexual assault — often fueled by organized online hate campaigns spreading anti-LGBTQ+ disinformation. The situation is dire, and silence is not an option.

The United Nations must step up and act now by creating an official World Intersex Day — a day of awareness, education, and solidarity. This simple but powerful step would signal a global commitment to protect human rights, dignity, and equality for all.

Sign the petition now to demand the UN establish World Intersex Day and take a stand against rising hate.
