A wild burro named Cupid miraculously survived after being found with an arrow lodged in her chest — one of at least six brutal attacks on donkeys in southern California since June. Her lung was punctured, and she only survived thanks to emergency surgery. These gentle, federally protected animals have roamed the Moreno Valley for over 75 years, yet someone is allegedly hunting them for sport or malice.
Burros are vital to local ecosystems and even help prevent wildfires by grazing on dry brush. To harm them is not only cruel but illegal. Authorities must act swiftly to find and prosecute those responsible before more animals suffer. Justice for Cupid means justice for all wild donkeys.
Sign the petition now to urge the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department and the Bureau of Land Management to stop these horrific attacks!
