The UK government is funding real-world solar radiation modification (SRM) experiments — methods like stratospheric aerosol injection and cloud brightening — to reflect sunlight and cool the Earth. But these so-called “quick fixes” to Climate change could allegedly wreak havoc on global weather systems. There’s little research on the long-term risks, and zero international regulation.

Scientists warn this could shift rainfall patterns, cause droughts, and even damage critical ecosystems like the Amazon rainforest. The worst part? These experiments are happening with almost no oversight from international bodies.

We need the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate change (IPCC) to step in now. Tell them to regulate geo-engineering and put an end to this dangerous gamble with our planet’s future.
