The friendship between Pixie the rescued calf and Stitch the cat is certainly one for the ages. Both came from rough beginnings in life, but as you can see in this video, that hardly hindered their ability to love.
Pixie was born with a leg deformity that rendered her unable to stand but was rescued thanks to the kindness of the farmer’s wife. Stitch, on the other hand, was found lodged under a forklift in a warehouse with her family. Both of these sweet babes were cared for by Edgar’s Mission farm sanctuary where they were able to lead the lives they always deserved. Their friendship is a beautiful reminder that love can overcome all boundaries, and surely, this bond is what helped to each to recover.
Sadly, despite all of the care and companionship Pixie received at the sanctuary, she wasn’t able to overcome the severity of her illness. In her short life, Pixie might have known a good deal of suffering, but she also knew so much kindness and love.
Rest in peace, Pixie.
