Humans know that their animal’s poop can reveal a lot about digestion and overall health. Omni, a plant-based pet food company, is offering a stinking pile of money to monitor their pet’s stool. The pet food company based in Britain is paying dog owners to monitor their pet’s bowels and stool odor.
According to the job listing, the company will pay £5000 ($6,700) to people to smell their dog’s poop for two months. The participants will need to record the experience of introducing their dog to a plant-based diet by monitoring bowel movements, stool odor, health, energy levels, behavior, and sleep pattern. They also need to note differences in physical attributes like weight, skin, and fur color.
At the beginning of the two months, the dog will receive a general veterinary exam and another at the end of the two months to examine the impact on their digestive and general health.
The offer is available to pet parents over the age of 18 who have dogs that are not currently on a plant-based diet.
The company has already had a lot of positive feedback from the diet change, with people reporting digestion, energy levels, and general health being improved once on a plant-based diet.
Omni will also cover all of the costs of transitioning to a plant-based diet, including a free supply of their pet food and visits to a pet nutritionist.
“As a thank you for their dog’s cooperation too and to Support the fully plant-based lifestyle, we will also give the successful candidate a supply of sustainable dog toys and vegan treats to keep their four-legged friend happy between meals,” according to Omni.
The company hopes to clear up the confusion and misinformation that’s out there about dog diets. Many people believe that dogs cannot eat a plant-based diet, but that is far from the truth.
“We hope that by hiring someone to transition their dog to a vet-formulated, plant-based diet – and analyse the effects that the diet has on their pup, both inside and out – we can take another step to proving the benefits it can have on dogs’ digestive health and general health, not least through their poop!”
Applications will be accepted through March 31st. To learn more and apply for your chance for this smelly gig, check out Omni’s website.
