Alligator hunting is sadly legal in Florida, but only with a permit and only during a certain season which runs from August 15th until November 1st. But recently, someone found an alligator that was cruelly injured. The injured alligator was discovered near a pond with two arrows stuck in his side and his snout and feet wrapped in rope.
This was an illegal act of animal cruelty. The fact that the abuser left the alligator to suffer shows that this was done just for the sake of being cruel.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission helped remove the alligator from the pond and Crime Stoppers is asking the public to help find the person responsible for this.

The day after the alligator was found, Lee County Sheriff’s office announced a new Animal Cruelty task force to “educate the county regarding animal abuse and neglect and to enforce any and all laws pertaining to the mistreatment of animals.”
However, it’s common knowledge that animal abuse cases do not often get taken as seriously in the justice system. But people who abuse animals are not only dangerous to other animals, but to other people as well. And if they have to face the consequences, then it’ll deter other abusers from doing the same thing.
Sign this petition urging law enforcement to take this seriously and find the person responsible for cruelly injuring this alligator.
