It’s horrible to hear about animal abuse cases or read the ways humans are endangering many species. Fortunately, there are things we can do to speak for them. One of the ways we can help and lend our voices to good causes is by signing petitions. Such petitions are sent to people in powerful positions that can make a change, especially when they see just how many people stand behind the cause. We can demand change, justice, and stop tragedies by speaking up and doing our part.

There are horrifying things happening around the world every week like extinction, hunting, exploitation, and cruelty. If you are looking for a way to help animals, here are 10 petitions you should sign this week, including urging Malaysian authorities to end the bear bile trade, asking Indiana to cancel their cruel rodeo events, and ending deadly primate testing!

In an episode aired on April 24, 2019, The Amazing Race promoted elephant riding. In these tourism industries where people pay to ride elephants, the animals suffer tremendously. They’ve been taken from the wild to have their spirits broken and are threatened with bull hooks. It’s completely unnatural for elephants. This petition demands a public apology as well as a segment in which they educate viewers about the truth behind such excursions. If they promote travel, they should condone compassion and ethical tourism. Sign this petition if you agree!

Of the 15 pigs used, seven were killed instantly while the others suffered for up to six hours. According to the study, injuries sustained by the pigs included “abrasion, contusion, laceration, bleeding and fracture.” They were also starved for 24 hours before the test and not given water for several hours. The pigs used were meant to mimic 6-year-old children in the crash tests. The Forestry Commission have drawn up new plans obliging UK land owners to cull tens of thousands of grey squirrels each year, using methods which include poisoning them or trapping and shooting them.
