Wild animals do not belong in captivity. They certainly should be forced to travel the world in small, confined spaces, taken from their mothers as babies, and mistreated so that they can perform. Physical punishment is the primary form of training. The tricks that wild animals are seen doing in circuses are completely unnatural for them. They should be in the wild with their packs, herds, prides, etc. Their health is greatly affected and they become depressed to the point of pacing and self-mutilation. Often circus animals become so distressed they might attack the trainers like a lion recently did. The core of the matter is that they just do not belong there.

While many people are fighting to get wild animals in circuses banned in places like South Africa and the United Kingdom as was successfully done in New Jersey, it’s sadly still legal in much of the world. However, Circus Roncalli from Germany is proving that you don’t need to exploit animals to put on a wonderful circus show!

Of course there are animal-free circuses already like Cirque du Soleil, what makes Roncalli special is that there are still animals involved in the show… but as holograms! To see how Circus Roncalli does it, watch the full video above!
