The Daily Show Launches Initiative to Get Animals Adopted!

This election season, “The Daily Show” is not only encouraging people to vote but also to adopt pets through its new campaign, “InDogCision 2024: Rescuing Democracy.” The initiative, launching this month, aims to boost voter turnout and find homes for rescue dogs.

Collaborating with HeadCount, a voter registration organization, and various animal shelters nationwide, “The Daily Show” will host events in New York, Milwaukee, and Chicago. These gatherings will offer attendees the opportunity to register to vote and adopt a dog.

The campaign kicks off on June 21 at Animal Haven in New York. Following this, the next event will take place at the Republican National Convention (RNC) in Milwaukee on July 14, in partnership with the Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission. The final event will be held during the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Chicago on August 18, working with PAWS Chicago.

Event activities will include voter registration, dog adoptions, free giveaways, dog-themed merchandise, photoshoots, and appearances by special guests. The project is especially meaningful to host Jon Stewart, who recently lost his rescue dog, Dipper. Stewart’s bond with Dipper, who frequently joined him at the show’s tapings, highlights his passion for animal rescue.

“InDogCision 2024” is a playful twist on “The Daily Show’s” election coverage series, “Indecision 2024.” In addition to the dog adoption events, the show will broadcast a week of episodes from the RNC in Milwaukee (July 15-18) and the DNC in Chicago (August 19-22). Fans can catch “The Daily Show” on weeknights at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT on Comedy Central.
