An innocent dog named Wallace was found in St. Louis bleeding and cowering after being shot in the face. Blood ran down his muzzle and his lower lip was torn and swollen. Shell casings were recovered nearby. Despite the pain Wallace still wagged his tail. Authorities described the scene as heartbreaking. Wallace showed no aggression and appeared to be a familiar neighborhood stray with no microchip. Someone allegedly chose to shoot him anyway. His injuries are severe and require ongoing medical care before adoption is possible.
Animal abuse is a felony and a serious threat to public safety. When cruelty goes unpunished it escalates. If the person responsible is not found they could hurt another animal or worse.
