Flamingo

Recently, flamingos have been found hundreds of miles away from their native habitats, even as far north as Virginia and Ohio! Scientists speculate that Hurricane Idalia caused them to fly off course, sometime when the birds were traveling between Central America and the Caribbean. Thankfully, the birds have been found in reasonable health so far, but they are exhausted from the extended travel.

While most of the birds seem to be fine, they are still at risk in non-native habitats. We must ensure these majestic tropical animals get back home safely!

Please sign this petition to tell the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to monitor these flamingos to ensure they safely return to their habitats!
