A cat in Maine was found dead near its owner’s home, allegedly shot five times. Neighbors told police the man had openly said he planned to kill the cat, pointing authorities directly to him. The killing has shaken the local community and raised serious concerns about animal safety and accountability in Androscoggin County.

When questioned, the man denied the allegations and claimed the cat had been hit by a car and was shot to end its suffering. Shooting a cat multiple times is not humane care. If the cat was injured, veterinarians and shelters exist to provide emergency treatment and pain relief. Choosing violence instead shows a dangerous disregard for animal life.

With 9,218 supporters already calling for action and a goal of 10,000, this case cannot be ignored. Authorities must hold the shooter accountable and impose a lifetime ban on animal ownership. Sign the petition now to demand justice. Sign the petition now to protect other animals.
