Millions of animals are raised and cruelly killed every year for their fur. Much like farmed animals who languish on factory farms, 85 percent of animals raised for their fur are raised on fur farms, where they are confined to tiny cages for their entire lives. This prevents them from swimming and engaging in other natural habits, which often causes them to go insane, leading to neurotic behaviors such as pacing. Fur farming is a brutal practice that involves ripping the hides and hairs off of screaming caged animals.
Farming mink has also been a huge contributor to the spread of COVID-19 and its multiple variants. Not only is mink fur farming deadly for the animals. It’s bad for people, too. More than 200 mink farms are operating in the U.S., locking up these helpless furry animals and harvesting them for their pelts.

These animals, which include minks, rabbits, chinchillas, and many others, are extremely intelligent creatures who deserve to be treated as sentient beings, not as fashion items. There are very clear environmental, public health, and of course animal welfare reasons to close and ban fur farms. Today, there are so many fur alternatives that buying and wearing it is inexcusable. Sign this petition to Ban All Fur Farming in the U.S.
