Paralyzed Cat Rescued After Having Back Broken

A cat named Kiri was rescued in Bekaa, Lebanon after having her back broken by a child who threw stones at her. The paralyzed cat was taken in by the Paws Crossed Rescue Center. Although the center was at capacity, they managed to take in Kiri after another rescuer could not afford her medical care. A clip shared on the Paws Crossed TikTok page shares Kiri’s story.

At the beginning of the video, Kiri can be seen dragging herself across the ground. Her back legs have been left immobile after being abused. The paralyzed cat can then be seen cuddling with her rescuer. The video then shows several images of Kiri’s injuries. X-rays reveal that her back is broken. However, there is a chance that the paralyzed cat will be able to walk again if she can receive surgery.

The video of the paralyzed cat left many people angry and confused. Sadly, animal abuse remains far too common around the world. However, organizations like Paws Crossed Rescue Center hope to change this and teach people how to treat animals with kindness and respect.
