A hilarious moment was caught on camera and uploaded to TikTok recently of a dog and human looking out of a window and barking together. The dog barks, and the human copies him, which leaves the pup staring at her in confusion.

The TikTok posted by @skyeandskipp already has over 8.2 million views, and users can’t get over the hilarious and confused look that the pup gives his 21-year-old dog mom.

“He’s like wait .. YOU CAN SPEAK DOGGO????!!!” one user commented.

“the double take. He was like “yeah, we barking”.. then like” wait… why you barking! 😅😂,” another user added.

Dogs are social animals and communicate with each other using a variety of vocalizations, body language, and scent cues.  When a dog hears a human bark, it’s likely that they’re confused or curious because they’re not used to hearing humans make that noise. Our dogs also get to know our body language and vocal cues very well so they may also pick up on the fact that you’re acting strange. In any case, it’s always a good idea to observe your dog’s body language and behavior to ensure they’re comfortable and not stressed by the situation.
