Cat’s Personality Flip at Vet Shown in Viral Video

No one likes getting a shot, and this can be seen quite clearly in a viral video showing one cat’s personality transformation at the vet’s office. Like the rest of us, Milo dislikes receiving his shots even though they are for his own good. Posted by TikTok user @colleenssworldd, the viral video begins by showing sweet Milo at home, snuggling with his human. It then cuts to show Milo receiving a shot at the vet. Upon receiving the shot, Milo freaks out. The vet holds on to him as he leaps in the air and off the table. They continue holding him until he is on the ground to ensure he will not be hurt during the fall, then the vet releases him. Once he is released, Milo scurries under a chair.

However, the cat’s personality change is far from unique. Captioned “My poor baby,” the viral video received many responses from people whose animal companions experienced a similar personality transformation when at the vet’s. Although it can be confusing for people when their animal friends undergo such a personality flip-flop, the vet is a very stressful environment for our furry friends. They are in an unfamiliar environment where they are handled by strangers. Experts at VCA Animal Hospitals advise people that one of the best things they can do to keep a stressed cat calm at the vet is to stay calm themselves. Speaking to the cat in a soothing voice and stroking them gently can help alleviate some of their stress
