Animal Carcasses Found Arranged at Remote Intersection in Wyoming

The city of Cheyenne, Wyoming, has been shaken by carefully arranged animal carcasses that have been repeatedly discovered at the same remote intersection. Over the past four months, Cheyenne Animal Control has responded to at least six incidents at the South Greeley Highway and East Nation Road intersection, where dead animals have been deliberately placed.

According to the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office, one particularly disturbing discovery involved two raccoons and a skunk, neatly positioned side by side. This strange and concerning pattern has drawn the attention of both local authorities and residents alike.

In Wyoming, it is illegal to leave dead animals on public grounds or along roadsides, making these incidents not just unsettling but also unlawful. The Laramie County Sheriff’s Office has noted similar occurrences in the past, particularly in 2022, but the frequency and deliberate nature of this year’s cases have raised new concerns.

Cheyenne Animal Control officers initially treated these discoveries as routine, but the repeated nature and the lack of visible trauma on the animals have prompted a deeper investigation. The animals do not appear to have been struck by vehicles or attacked by predators, leading to more questions than answers.

However, the investigation faces significant challenges. The intersection is isolated, with few surveillance cameras nearby, and it is believed the animals are being placed during the night. Due to limited resources, conducting autopsies on each animal found is not feasible, further complicating efforts to uncover the truth behind these strange occurrences. Authorities are urging Cheyenne residents to report any suspicious activity in the area, hoping to gain more information that might explain this unsettling mystery.
