Trader Joe’s is Celebrating Pumpkintopia: Check Out Their Seasonal Vegan Goods!

untitled-4

It’s 2017, which means if we’re craving some kind of pumpkin spice treat this fall, all we have to do is walk into our nearest coffee shop — pretty much every chain out there has its own iteration of Starbucks’s famous PSL (and some of them even offer vegan coconut whipped cream!).

But sometimes we want more than just a transient autumn-flavored treat. After all, if you’re anything like us, three slurps is all it takes to demolish a plant-based latte.

Luckily, Trader Joe’s is coming in clutch with a vast array of seasonal vegan fare (they call it Pumpkintopia) for you to stock up on during your next visit. We’ve compiled a list of some of your pumpkiny choices below (minus the actual pumpkins and pumpkin purée). Let us know which one you’re most excited to try!

Pumpkin Joe Joe’s

These Joe Joe’s look simple, but they’re full of flavor. Joe Joe’s are Trader Joe’s variation on Oreo cookies, and these seasonal pumpkin cookies are sandwiched together with an accidentally-vegan pumpkin crème filling that is delightfully pumpkiny, sweet (but not overpoweringly so), and creamy. Pumpkin Joe Joe’s are twistable, dunkable, crunchable, and enjoyable. These are only available for a very short period of time, and you can buy a 10.5-ounce box of Pumpkin Joe Joe’s for $2.99 at Trader Joe’s.

Pumpkin Bread Mix

This mix was one of the original pumpkin-flavored offerings at Trader Joe’s. It was first launched in 2008! The baking mix is made with real pumpkin — all you need to do is combine it with oil, water, and a plant-based egg replacement. The subtle flavor of the pumpkin mix is complemented by the zesty addition of cinnamon and nutmeg. The Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Bread and Muffin Mix has no artificial flavors or preservatives and is Kosher certified. Buy a 17.5-ounce box for $2.99.

Pumpkin Spice Almond Beverage

You can drink pumpkin spice without caffeine! This is a blend of California almonds and golden delicious pumpkin purée (which is the name of the variety of pumpkin, amazingly). This beverage is thicker and creamier than your average almond drink due to the pumpkin, and the seasonal cinnamon and nutmeg spices round the flavor profile out. Each 32-ounce resealable container of Pumpkin Spice Almond Beverage retails for $1.79.

Pumpkin Tortilla Chips

These Pumpkin Tortilla Chips are made with real pumpkin purée and pumpkin seeds, and 17 percent of the ingredients are totally pumpkin. These corn-based tortilla chips are sturdy enough to dunk into a dip without falling apart and are naturally sweet. They also come with a kick of cinnamon and nutmeg to amplify their seasonal and pumpkiny profile. Each seven-ounce bag of Pumpkin Tortilla Chips is available for $1.99.

We recommend dipping these chips in this Pumpkin Queso Dip from the Food Monster App!

Joe’s Pumpkin O’s

If you’re a cereal fan, or just someone who wants to enjoy pumpkin-flavored treats from morning to dusk, these Trader Joe’s Pumpkin O’s are the cereal for you. The cereal itself is made from a blend of United States-grown whole grain brown rice and whole grain oats from Canada and is sweetened with real cane sugar as well as brown cane sugar. These are also made with actual pumpkin and are flavored with a smidge of cinnamon to lend it some pumpkin pie vibes. You can buy a 12-ounce box of Joe’s Pumpkin O’s for $2.49 in the cereal aisle.

Looking for the perfect non-dairy milk to enjoy your cereal with? Try one of these vegan nut-based milk recipes, like this Homemade Soy Milk.

Pecan Pumpkin Instant Oatmeal

This oatmeal begins with whole grain oats, but then the seasonal flavors kick in: we’re talking pumpkin, cinnamon, and pecans, all combined into a cozy hot cereal. To make this, you need only add water or plant-based milk and heat in the microwave (or heat your liquid up beforehand). Each 12.6-ounce box of eight packets is $2.99 for the entirety of the pumpkin season!

Pumpkin Spice Coffee

You get it. Every coffee shop has their trademark Pumpkin Spice brew, and Trader Joe’s does too. Theirs uses 100 percent Brazil Cerrado Arabica beans that are roasted to a medium-dark, Vienna-style roast. TJ’s spices its beans with orange peel, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, vanilla beans, and pumpkin spice oil. Each 14-ounce can of ground Pumpkin Spice Coffee retails for $6.99.

Pumpkin Rolls With Pumpkin Spice Icing

The icing on these vegan pumpkin rolls is truly original: it’s made with pumpkin purée and warm, pumpkin season spices, like cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove. Trader Joe’s is selling Pumpkin Rolls with Pumpkin Spice Icing in the refrigerated section in the classic cinnamon-roll “tube” packaging. Each 17.5-ounce tube of five rolls costs $3.99.

Remember these two things before you set out to your closest Trader Joe’s to stock up: some of these items are only on sale during autumn for as long as supplies last, and some of these prices could be outdated.
