About CoolCorc: CoolCorC designs fashionable accessories out of a sustainably harvested, eco-friendly and regenerative material – cork! CoolCorC strives to utilize the innate attributes of cork and cork fabric in each of their designs. Cork fabric is a wonderful alternative to traditional leather because it is supple and luxurious to the touch. No trees or animals are harmed to harvest cork, a naturally water-, stain- and scratch-resistant material. Located in Knoxville, Tennessee CoolCorC is headed by Josh and Jess – a husband and wife team who are also Architects. They began their cork fashion line in 2010 with the Knoxville Farmers Market – originally creating each cork accessory by hand – and have since grown their online store to include their original designs for purses, clutches, journal covers, reusable cup sleeves, and wallets.
The One Green Planet Verdict: Each of the CoolCorC accessories we reviewed is made from soft, durable, neutral-colored cork. The material alone makes each piece unique as well as appropriate for daily wear! They’re a great way to make a subtle, environmentally-friendly fashion statement.
- The CoolCorC Wristlet is a great choice for quick errands or a casual night out and won’t leave you worried about losing your belongings. It is compact and stylish, and can comfortably hold few make-up items, credit cards, cash and a phone. The cool printed border adds spunk!
- The CoolCorC Large Purse is a sober-looking, strongly constructed piece. The neutral color makes it great for daily use and the printed lining inside makes it fun. We thought it looked more regular-sized than “large,” which means we’d love to see a larger size for women on the go!
- The CoolCorC Journal/Sketchbook Cover is a great alternative to a traditional leather journal. The refillable cover holds a 5.5″ x 8.5″ pad, and comes in two fun prints – streams and speckles. Make a statement at your next meeting with one of these awesome covers!

An Ice-Breaker!
I love my new CoolCorC large purse and to my delight, several people have asked me about it after noticing that it was made out of cork. It is a conversation starter to be sure! I can toss my wallet, medications, pen, keys, and even my iPad in it and still have room left over for whatever else I happen to be carrying with me. I am in love with my new CoolCorC large purse! It is just perfect for summer, matching it with a white flowy dress and some cork-heeled shoes. It fits everything I need; my (huge) wallet, my Kindle, my waterbottle, cell phone, keys, and all be being super cute. I get compliments on it daily!

Love my Wristlet!
I absolutely love my wristlet. I use it any time I am going out. I chuck my huge bulky work purse in the closet and just stash the essentials in the wristlet. Everything fits just right. The cork itself is so smooth and flexible. I get a lot of compliments about the unique design. I would love to see the fabric portions come in different styles, so that I could get another one to wear with the bright colors of summer!
Lovely Journal Cover!
I love the the journal cover I received. Its super light weight and so pretty! I can use it again and again! I'm using it n0w as a sketch book and once school starts up again I'm going to use it as a cover to my planner! I love it! There's even a little pocket to but cards in and a pen. Thank you so much!
