It is often said that a firefighter is never off duty. This idea stems from the fact that no matter where a firefighter is and whether he is on the clock or not, he will always help someone if they are in need. Well, as the video above proves, this ideology also extends to animals!
When Firefighter Thawley from Sacramento, California was walking through the rain and found a sick puppy tied up, he quickly sprang into savior mode. He cleaned the pup up, brought her to Front Street Animal Shelter, and left, knowing that this sweet creature was now in safe and capable hands. However, it seems that the next day, this firefighter couldn’t get this darling pup, now named Chunkie, out of his thoughts and so, he decided to visit her.
From the look on her face, it’s clear to see that this adorable pup had Thawley in her thoughts too! As soon as he arrived, she leapt on him and gave him plenty of thank you kisses.
And now, Officer Thawley and his family are going to foster Chunkie! The Sacramento Fire Department wrote on Facebook, “Although Mike denies it, it appears by a vote of four to one that Chunk might wind up with a permanent home!” Based on this video of the pair below, we have to say we agree!
