Murphy, the sun bear in the video, lost his mother to a poaching attempt when he was just a cub. The poacher who killed his mother took ownership of him and intended to sell him into the live animal trade. Luckily Vietnam’s Forest Protection Department Stepped in to save Murphy before he was gone forever.
Now, Murphy is in the care of Animals Asia and lives at their Vietnam Sanctuary. Murphy is the youngest sun bear that the team has ever raised, so they had to bring their A-game to make sure this little guy stays happy and healthy. Here you can see them pulling out all the stops by giving him his very own playroom!
The fight to protect endangered sun bears like Murphy is nowhere near over, but thanks to amazing organizations like Animals Asia, there is hope!
