Although bears are known for being ferocious, tough animals, when they are babies they are just as sweet and vulnerable as human children. Unfortunately, this means that when bear cubs are left to fend for themselves, as a result of losing their mothers to hunters or some other accident, they stand little chance at survival.
Luckily, International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) is working to give orphaned bears a second chance by raising them in their Orphan Bear Rescue Center in Bubonitsy, Russia. The little cuties in this video are in the process of being rehabilitated so that they can one day get released back into the wild.
They have grown strong enough to start venturing outside so that they can learn what it will be like when they finally leave the center. Inquisitive little tots, aren’t they? We have a feeling they’ll do just fine once they’re out in the world!
Thousands of mistreated bears and other targeted wildlife are safe thanks to the efforts of wildlife preservation organizations like IFAW. Please Support the work they do by sharing stories like these or donating to their cause!
