No one likes to feel imprisoned, whether it’s mentally or physically. If you’re in an unhappy relationship, that can make you feel trapped. If you’re in a job you’re not happy with, you can feel confined. If you’re actually in a jail, it can take a psychological toll on you.

Bruno, Fifi, Marsha and Pocahontas are elderly bears that have been confined to rusty, dirty cages at a defunct zoo in rural Pennsylvania for twenty years. All that time being imprisoned has taken its toll on them, mentally and physically. Before recently, they had no idea what being free was, but thanks to the Wild Animal Sanctuary in Colorado, they do now!

They can feel the grass under their paws and breath in the fresh, clean air. Despite having lived miserable lives for so long, being free seems to have added pep to their step and years to their lives. All living things deserve to be free.
