Puppy Who Lost All Her Fur After Being Left to Die in a Styrofoam Container Is Learning to Trust Again

Author Bio

I am a writer and illustrator living in Poland.

In Miami, Florida, a tiny puppy was abandoned and left to die inside a styrofoam cooler. Fortunately, the baby dog, now named Harley, was rescued by Miami Beach police officers. Thankfully, she was transported to the VCA Alton Road Animal Hospital – where she is now slowly recovering from her ailments and learning to trust people again.

Upon rescue, little Harley was trembling, terrified and distressed. Because of how scared and hesitant to trust she was, she had to be coaxed to eat.

The puppy has a skin condition, several open sores throughout her body – and around 90 percent of her coat has fallen off.

Harley’s road to full recovery, both physical and emotional, is going to be long – but she is in good hands and is being provided with professional veterinary care to help her stand on her own four paws.

Thanks to the help she is currently receiving, Harley has a chance to begin a beautiful new life – but she still needs some assistance. The puppy’s caregiver has launched a crowdfunding campaign for her medical care and any help in the matter would be greatly appreciated by her rescuers – and, most of all, by Harley! You can Donate to Harley’s medical care here.

  1. Thanks to the Police officer/s who brought him to the shelter. It shows that some of the Police officers also have "soft spot" in their hearts, towards the vulnerable sentient beings. I hope that the pooch will recover soon & will have a normal life at the end of all the pains & sufferings…God\’s Blessings to ALL of you…

  2. My prayers are with this little one for strength and healing. My prayers of thanks also go out to the loving officers who rescued this poor baby…Thank You.
