This is my morning energy drink. You might ask why is the smoothie such a dark green color. It is the spirulina, which is a great source of protein to start the day! BRILLIANT way to get greens into children and adults! Like I have said earlier, the most important thing is that it tastes YUMMY! So go slow with the greens, and use more fruit in the beginning. Remember the recipe I am giving you is just a guide line, you can use different fruits and greens depending on your taste buds.

Ingredients

  • 2 large handfuls spinach
  • 1 teaspoon spirulina
  • 1 teaspoon wheat grass powder
  • 1 teaspoon maca powder
  • 1 teaspoon acai berry powder
  • frozen mixed berries
  • filtered water

Preparation

  1. Place all ingredients in vitamix blend ingredients until a smooth consistency.
  2. It’s ready to serve.

Notes

You can use any fruits and greens you like, the most important thing is that it tastes YUMMY!! Variety is a great important, so one day use spinach and the next day try kale, ice berg, or romaine hearts, mix it up. You can also change your fruits, mango cheeks, banana’s, kiwi fruit. Green varieties - Kale, Iceberg Lettuce, Silver beet, Butter Lettuce, Romaine Hearts.
