How to Prepare Family Movie Night Board [Vegan]
For the Savory Dill Popcorn:
- Pour 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of the melted coconut oil into a large stockpot with a tight-fitting lid. Add 3 popcorn kernels, put the lid on the pot, and place over low heat.
- Once all 3 popcorn kernels have popped, pour the remaining popcorn kernels into the pot and replace the lid. Pop the popcorn for about 3 minutes, shaking the pot frequently to prevent the kernels from burning.
- When the popping slows down, turn off the heat and uncover the popcorn. Drizzle with the remaining 3 tablespoons (45 ml) coconut oil. Place the lid back on the pot and shake to coat the popcorn in the oil.
- In a small bowl, combine the nutritional yeast, fresh dill, garlic powder, and salt. Sprinkle a third of the seasoning over the popcorn, cover the pot with the lid, and shake to coat. Repeat until you’ve used all of the seasoning and the popcorn is lightly coated with the herbs and spices.
- Transfer the Savory Dill Popcorn to a large bowl and serve on the Family Movie Night Board.
For the Movie Night Board:
- Transfer the Savory Dill Popcorn to a large serving bowl and place it on the board.
- Scoop the vegan chocolate hazelnut spread into a small bowl and place it on the board.
- Scoop the hummus into another small bowl and set it on the opposite side of the board from the vegan chocolate hazelnut spread.
- Place clusters of baby carrots and rice crackers across the board, concentrating on the area surrounding the hummus.
- Squeeze the lemon juice into a bowl. Core and slice the apple and immediately toss the pieces with the lemon juice to prevent browning. Arrange the apple slices in clusters across the board.
- Transfer the Crispy Spiced Chickpeas to a small bowl and set it on the board.
- Add clusters of red and green grapes to the board, filling in any gaps.
