Ingredients You Need for Boondhi: Indian Sweetened Fried Chickpea Flour [Vegan, Gluten-Free]

For the Batter:

  • 1 cup chickpea flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
  • Salt, to taste

For the Rest:

  • 1/2 cup peanuts
  • 8-10 curry leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
  • Salt, to taste

How to Prepare Boondhi: Indian Sweetened Fried Chickpea Flour [Vegan, Gluten-Free]

  1. In a bowl, combine the chickpea flour and the chili powder with enough water to make a smooth, pourable batter.
  2. Heat the oil in a pan on medium heat.
  3. Pour the batter over a slotted boondi spoon and fry it until it's golden brown.
  4. Remove the fried dough onto a paper towel lined plate.
  5. Once dry place them in a bowl.
  6. Fry the peanuts and curry leaves until they're crispy. Add to the bowl of boondi.
  7. Season the boondi mixture with red chili powder and salt. Mix well and serve.
