Veganuary is set to pass its 2 million milestone as the movement is gaining momentum, specifically among larger firms.
Harrods, Superdrug, and Volkswagen UK are just a handful of the firms set to participate in this year’s Veganuary with workplace challenges that encourage employees to try plant-based options. This corporate push is accompanied by more easily available vegan foods as well as morale-boosting events to encourage employees to keep at it.
A record number of people are set to participate in Vegaunary as people increasingly become more aware of the growing climate crisis. This awareness has pushed many to make better decisions when it comes to their dietary choices.
Last, more than 500,000 people signed up to participate in Veganuary and the organization estimates that there could be even more sign-ups this year. If their estimations are correct, the movement could reach its 2 million-person sign-up milestone since starting in 2014.
This year, many companies, including Subway, Costa, and Cold Stone, have released new vegan products in honor of, or just in time for Veganuary.
Hopefully, with such a positive response to Veganuary and the abundance of new options, Veganuary participants will stick with their vegan lifestyle once the month is over and convince others to change up their eating habits too!
Reducing your meat intake and eating more plant-based foods is known to help with chronic inflammation, heart health, mental wellbeing, fitness goals, nutritional needs, allergies, gut health, and more! Unfortunately, dairy consumption also has been linked to many health problems, including acne, hormonal imbalance, cancer, prostate cancer, and has many side effects.
For those interested in eating more plant-based, we highly recommend purchasing one of our many plant-based cookbooks or downloading the Food Monster App which has thousands of delicious recipes making it the largest vegan recipe resource to help reduce your environmental footprint, save animals and get healthy! And, while you are at it, we encourage you to also learn about the environmental and health benefits of a plant-based diet.
