You’re going to need a big appetite and both of your hands if you want to tackle the newest vegan culinary delight that’s making waves all over the internet.

Back in 2016, we told you all about London’s first (and only) vegan fried chicken restaurant, Temple of Seitan. The restaurant opened its doors this January and serves 100-percent plant-based fried chicken sandwiches, fried chicken tubs, and fried chicken chopped up into dairy-free Mac ‘n’ Cheese.

Temple of Seitan uses seitan , a plant-based protein made from vital wheat gluten that has been a staple meat substitute in East Asian cuisine for centuries, to make its vegan chicken. While we were blown away by their concept last year, now the masterminds have returned with their newest cruelty-free creation: the Bae-Cone.

Bae-Cones feature vegan ‘cheesy; loaded fries, popcorn, and garnishes served in an edible ‘bacon’ cone made from seitan.

The owners of Temple of Seitan plan to debut their Bae-Cones at Hackney Downs Vegan Market this Saturday, hosted by the man behind the popular blog Fat Gay Vegan, Sean O’Callaghan. The Bae-Cones will begin being available for purchase at 11 a.m. until they’re all sold out.

Co-Owner and founder of Temple of Seitan, Pat O’Shea, said that: “It’s heavily inspired by the excess of American thatched bacon dishes, however, we know that there’s no reason vegan food can’t be just as dirty and over the top.

If You’re Not in London, You Can Make Your Own Savory Vegan Cones at Home!

Sometimes you just want to treat yourself. If you aren’t in London and still want to indulge in crunchy, warm, “cheesy”, vegan goodness, we found a few recipes from the Food Monster App that we think will do just the trick.

These gluten-free Life-Changing Chili Cheese Fries by Teffy Perk are going to blow your mind.

Crispy fries topped with spicy chili and beans, topped with a creamy vegan cheese sauce. This recipe is the ultimate snack food for any party! And the potatoes you use are up to you! You can use white, gold, or any color you like to create a delicious and colorful snack that’ll impress whoever has the pleasure of tasting it.

Why limit yourself? If you want to up the ante, throw some of these Raw Jicama Chili Cheese Fries by Amanda Nicole Smith into the mix, too.

We’re not recommending you eat it all in one sitting, but we are encouraging you to show photos of your loaded fries to everyone you know. People eat and get envious with their eyes, after all!

Throw some of this Popcorn Tofu by Laila Bowman on top as one of your garnishes.

No, it’s not 100 percent made out of seitan, but yes, it is vegan, fried and delicious. The tofu and vital wheat gluten work well together in creating the perfect texture for the vegan chicken and then these nuggets are coated in the delicious bread crumb mix and fried – it doesn’t get much better than this.

Now throw some Homemade TVP Bacon Bits by Annie Markowitz on the top and call it a day.

Any more would be a bit much, right? We’re not snickering, you’re snickering!
