Onion, garlic, and shallots should be stored outside of the fridge, in a dry, cool area. Lettuce should be wrapped in foil and stored in the fridge. Lettuce stored this way “will last for up to 30 days,” said the TikToker. Potatoes should never be stored in the fridge because it will turn the starch content into sugar. Instead, store them in a cool, dry, and dark area and cover them with a towel. Scallions and asparagus will last the longest in a jar filled with water and loose plastic bag over them. “They’ll last for 10-14 days,” added the TikToker. Cucumbers will get mushy very fast if they are stored in the fridge. Instead, place them in a plastic bag with holes and keep them in a cool spot in the kitchen. Bananas will last longer if you wrap foil at the top and store them on their own in the kitchen.

It is quite easy to keep your produce fresh and vibrant throughout the week. All it requires is a little more effort and some new habits.
