Celebrity chef and humanitarian, José Andrés, has joined Eat Just’s cell-based meat board. He has also pledged to serve Good Meat cultured chicken at one of his U.S. restaurants once it is approved to be sold in that location.

José Andrés plans to help connect Eat Just with small animal farmers to help them collect the necessary cells. He will also be given the job of helping to test the products as they are created for texture, taste, appearance, and more.

The company needs such renowned figures backing its products if it wants to start selling its cell-based meats

Andrés is a trustworthy public figure who is known for his exceptional food as well as his humanitarian efforts. He has a long record of helping provide food for those in need or in disaster areas, such as going to Kentucky to help with tornado victims.

Andrés said, “We need to innovate to adapt our food to a planet in crisis. We need to create meals that feed the people at the same time as we sustain our communities and environment.”

The company is already selling some of its cell-based meat in Singapore and hopes to expand those items. They also hope to expand globally, hopefully starting in the US, where consumers are already interested in cell-based meat.
