We already know the benefits that yoga asana has on the body, but have you ever heard of hand yoga? Angelica Keele on TikTok shares her hack for detoxing the body naturally, using an ancient technique called mudra.
A mudra is a symbolic or ritual gesture or pose used in Hinduism, Jainism, and Buddhism cultures. While some mudras involve the entire body, most are performed with the hands and fingers.
Angelica starts off this detox practice by bringing the middle and ring finger together to touch the thumb. She does this on both hands. This hand pose is known as Apan Mudra. She explains that this hand pose when held 3 times a day for about 10-15 minutes, helps release toxins and pent-up emotions, relieves constipation, back pain, and indigestion, balances energy in the body, and grounds you, and strengthens the immune system! Who knew such a simple and easy hand pose could do all that!
