The Pomodoro Technique is a time management system that encourages people to work with the time they have—rather than against it, says the muse. Using this method, you break your day into 25-minute internals, also called pomodoros, accompanied by five-minute breaks. The idea behind the technique is that you will feel a sense of urgency and be more motivated to get things done rather than procrastinate. It’s more difficult to get distracted when the timer is ticking. The five-minute breaks are also supposed to help prevent burnout or mental fatigue. It also breaks up your workload into smaller chunks so it feels more manageable and less overwhelming.
The next time you feel like you need a mental boost during your day, try out the Pomodoro Technique and see if it works for you!
