Tell yourself you’ll do a task for only ten minutes. You can even set a timer on your phone and completely commit to that task without any distractions. Telling yourself you’ll only do something for ten minutes allows for increased motivation. By breaking up your workload into smaller chunks, it becomes a lot less overwhelming. And odds are, once you start a task, you’re more likely to want to continue even after the timer has gone off. While you may be skeptical at first, the level of speed and focus that this brings to your day is astounding.
