Meet Raven! She was abandoned by her previous humans and kept in a small crate for hours on end. When her rescuers received a message from Puppy Rescue Mission in Texas, where she was located, they did everything they could to plan for her arrival. After living in two different foster homes, she ended up at PRM before making the long journey to Seattle by Airplane. Raven was born with a facial deformity identical to that of another one of their rescues named Brodie.
@bestboybrodie It’s a long one but so worth it! 😭 Thank you to @therealfuzzytexan, Puppy Rescue Mission, and all of the volunteers and wonderful amazing people who donated! This happened because of you 🥺😭❤️#rescuedog #rescuestory ♬ Can’t Help Falling in Love – Haley Reinhart
Sadly, Raven was practically locked away in a cage for most of her life, which has caused her to become timid around men and new people, a sign that indicated she was most likely mistreated. She was also extremely underweight when they brought her home, with most of her ribs and spine exposed.
“She was most likely born with her cute little twisty face according to the vet. Her and Brodie’s conditions are basically identical except his is worse due to his jaw being partially fused shut and his blindness in one eye,” her rescuers explained.
@bestboybrodie In case you were wondering how things were going…😭❤️ they love eachother! Raven absolutely adores Brodie and they’re basically inseparable now. They wrestle all day, nap, then repeat! I’m shocked at how fast they’re bonding tbh. Their whole dynamic reminds me of Beauty and the Beast for some reason🥀🤣 #rescuedog #rescuestory #beautyandthebeast ♬ Something There (From “Beauty and the Beast”) – Chocolate Ice Cream
Unfortunately, even when rescued in time, abused dogs need plenty of time to recover their trust in humans. However, the unbreakable bond that results from patience, dedication, and compassion is worth it!
“She has the best temperament which is amazing given everything she’s been through! She loves to sleep in bed and she loves to cuddle and give kisses. She’s honestly the yin to Brodie’s yang. She’s extremely smart and SUCH a sweet cuddly girl! She listens so well and doesn’t misbehave at all. I honestly looked at her the other day and bawled my eyes out because I just can’t understand how someone could mistreat or abandon such an amazing animal!! I feel soo lucky that she’s in our lives,” her humans said.
