Mino Valley Farm Sanctuary, located in Spain is dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating farm animals who have been abused or abandoned. So when the sanctuary recently came across goose brothers, Travis and Jacob languishing in a filthy cage inside a store, there was no question they would do everything they could to help the innocent geese.
Travis was in worse shape than his brother Jacob. When the sanctuary first saw Travis, he was not only trapped in a filthy cage but he was unable to walk and was entirely crippled. They begged the store owner to surrender the geese and thankfully the owner obliged.
As Travis was rushed to the vet, suffering from dehydration and hypothermia, his brother Jacob settled in at the sanctuary. Travis stayed at the vet for two nights with an IV drip and medication to save his life. Sanctuary caretakers were terrified Travis would never walk again but when they went to the vet to pick him up, they couldn’t believe their eyes … he was standing up!
Once back at the sanctuary, Travis was immediately reunited with his brother and even ran to him in happiness!
geese deserve our love just like any other animal. And like we’ve seen from the case of chickens, our feathered friends can be just as loving and affectionate as the cats and dogs we share our homes with. geese love to nap with their humans and some even enjoy playing fetch.
