Hummingbirds are fascinating little creatures. Most known for fluttering their wings at an incredible speed, these birds are admired by animal lovers around the world. Being able to see a hummingbird up close is a rare occurrence that unfortunately only tends to happen when these tiny birds are injured.
Take the broad-tailed hummingbird, in this video, for instance. This baby bird took a tumble out of her nest and is clearly ruffled from the fall. Thankfully, she was retrieved by Greenwood Wildlife Rehabilitation Center who is giving her all the attention and nourishment she needs to get back to her natural habitat. It seems they even set her up with a little branch so she can feel more at home! Too cute…
Of course, it is worth reminding, that you should never try to rehabilitate baby birds, or any wildlife, on your own. Instead, calling an animal rescue hotline or local wildlife rehabber will ensure that whatever creature you happen to stumble upon, will be receiving the best and safest help. If you ever find yourself in a situation where an animal is in distress, here are some hotlines that might help!
