Although this story and the video is heart-warming and cute, we do not encourage our readers to feed wildlife. Feeding wildlife interferes with the balance between wildlife populations and their habitat and could lead them to be reliant on humans for survival, amongst other problems. If you find an animal in need, contact a local wildlife rehabber/rescuer or veterinarian ASAP, or call a rescue hotline. Here are some that might help!

Getting a chance to see a hummingbird up close is incredibly rare. These little birds move at a speed that is both perplexing and amazing. You can only tell if one is nearby by the subtle hum that comes from their rapidly moving wings, but if you have ever caught a glimpse of these creatures before they zoom out of sight, you know how awesome watching them can be.

We must admit we’re a bit jealous of the man in Brazil who has a hummingbird friend who visits him everyday, but seeing as you’d be hard-pressed to find a hummingbird that is similarly comfortable around humans, we’ll settle for this adorable video of a baby humming bird.

This little hummingbird was likely rescued and being cared for by someone who has experience working with these special birds. It’s so cute watching the little bird sip from the syringe and then flap his wings for more!
