Moles are pretty cool creatures. They are cute, fluffy, pudgy, and have pretty awesome hands and feet. Seeing a mole in real-life will make you smile, but if you come upon one and have no idea what it is, you might be like “what the heck is it?”
These small animals live a subterranean lifestyle, using their large paws to dig through the dirt to get around. Because they have small to non-visible eyes and ears, they can have great difficulty being above ground. It’s considered unusual for a mole to be found on the surface, so when the little guy in this video was brought in to Wildlife Aid, veterinarians checked him or her out to make sure nothing was physically wrong. Watch to see what happens!
When in doubt if an animal is injured or sick, it’s a good idea to seek help for wildlife just to be sure. Remember to take note of the area where you found the animal, so later the rescue organization can return the animal to their home.
