When you think of cute animals, it’s likely you think of puppies, kittens, and baby sloths. The internet is brimming with videos of these cuties, and we have to admit, we could watch them for hours. Not all animals get as much love from the public, though. Take bats, for instance. These nocturnal creatures are associated with all things ominous – pitch black nights, Halloween, and blood-sucking vampires.
As scary as these mammals may seem on T.V. and in movies, there is actually very little to fear about these little guys in real life! The rescued baby bat from Fly By Night Bat Clinic in the video above, for example, looks absolutely adorable using his feet to munch on some banana slices. It’s hard to be terrified of these creatures when you see them in this light. Not only are bats not as scary as we paint them to be, but they play an integral role in our global ecosystem, helping to control pest populations and pollinating many of the foods we eat every day.
Share this post to raise awareness about bats and help dispel any wrongful myths that people may have about them. After all, we need bats as much as they need us!

This bat looks like a flying fox or fruit bat. Where I live there are tens of thousands on fruit bats. They decimate fruit trees. They carry ABLV Australian Bat Lyssa Virus, a disease like rabies. Serious to fatal for humans. Bat faeces will lift paint, even that on cars, and carry the ABLV. Any fruit that is not destroyed may be contaminated.
Of the three huge mango trees on my property, every piece of fruit was chewed.
*Oh, and by the way. Fruit bats do not eat with their feet!
* They eat with their mouths! Like all mammals.
Don\’t get me wrong, I love all life. I just wanted to bring home some truths about these wonderful beings.
Did you read the article? Or are you just trolling?
Grey Headed Flying Foxes are actually listed as threatened to extinction.
ABLV is only transmitted through a bite or scratch, NOT THROUGH FAECES or FRUIT. So no touch no risk. Less than 0.001 % of the population carry the virus. You are moving likely to die in the precious car of yours.
Are you so hard done by that you need to eat all those mangos? We have cleared there homes and food trees, where are they going to go?
Did you watch the video? He is eating with his feet, like you probably eat with a fork :/
Seriously do some research and keep your nasty ignorant comments to yourself.
