The story of little Sasha is the best example of what rescuers’ determination and love can do for an animal whose future would have been very different without them.
Rescued by S.N.A.R.R. Animal Rescue Northeast, Sasha has something very unique about her puppy face – other than how absurdly tiny it is. The pup was born with a cleft palate and lip and also has hydrocephalus, a condition characterized by excessive accumulation of fluid in the brain. Luckily, she found someone who changed her entire world – a foster parent who put all her heart into saving the special puppy. Now, thanks to her amazing effort, Sasha is turning three months old!
“Sasha may not be a classic beauty, but to us she is perfectly imperfect,” Marie writes. “Her spirit and drive inspires us each and every day.” When she is old enough, Sasha will have a special surgery to fix her palate and, hopefully, a shunt for her brain condition, if she proves to be a good candidate. Along her way, she will have the help and love of her caretakers and friends – and we hope that she celebrates as many birthdays as a dog can!

To the foster Parent GOD BLESS YOU and to the rescue folks BRAVO
Sasha you are a lil fighter.
My Prancer was born the same way with water on the brain, tiniest Pom. We worked night and day to help him and so many DVM;s said just put him down. We always asked was he in any pain, they said no, but the costs of care of him. I said screw the cost. Over 30 yrs I have spent well over 100K (and I am not rich borrowed on my home and life insurance policies) to save many dogs.
Anyhow Prancer got better, walked in circles but always got to his destination. He was only 1.5 lbs as an adult and our Saint Bernards loved him. They watched him closely and would bark and let us know of any issues. Prancer stayed by the big dogs and slept next to them. When we could not find him, I would call to Hans, our 250 lb white saint and he would lift his head and there was prancer sound asleep. Prancer saw his big dog buddies go before him. Prance lived to be 12 yrs of age and died 1 month before his buddy Gepetto who was a chi with water on the brain passed away.
I miss all of my boys and girls and folks say how dumb I was to "waste all that money: on a dg(s). Well guess what they are not my friends and give me a dog or any animal any day…they are better than a human being.
I am down to my last 14 old boys and girls, 2 at age 19, 3 under six, rest at the 12-17 range.
I have to treat them for heart, epilepsy, diabetes and blindness. But they never need to fear as I am here 24/7 I cook for them, puree their food and bottle feed them as needed.
So folks who have animal friends and those who help animals in small and great ways know HE loves you for that.
Go Sasha you can make it.
