Guardians of the Voiceless is a non-profit organization whose primary goal is to speak out for those who do not have a public voice, namely children, and animals. They teach children the importance of respecting and caring for animals with the hopes that this education will provide a solid foundation for the future generation’s role in animal advocacy. Guardians of the Voiceless also rescues homeless animals from the streets, provides them with any necessary medical care, spays or neuters them, and either adopts them out or releases them back to the area where they were found.

While on a recent emergency call, rescuers from the organization came across a motionless young dog in the streets. As they approached him, they were happy to discover he was alive but heartbroken to see he had a broken jaw and leg, was severely malnourished and dehydrated and had mange. Nearby residents said the dog (now named Gazi) had peacefully entered the neighborhood a few weeks earlier, only to be attacked with rocks by cruel people, who left him to suffer and slowly die in the streets for days. Thankfully, rescuers found Gazi just in time, and he is safe and sound in a shelter where he is receiving all the love and medical care he needs to recover.
