Cute Alert! 10 Puppies Caught Mid-Shake in These Brilliant Photos

Dogs are an endless source of amusement. Even the littlest thing they do inspires us to drop everything, grab our cameras and attempt to capture our pups in all their hilarious glory. Does your dog have a funny way of sprawling out on the couch or organizing their kibble in patterns before chowing down? Then you understand the need to always have a camera at the ready.

Photographer Carli Davidson knows a thing or two about how to capture animals in action to create fantastic photos. In her latest endeavor, a photography book entitled Shake Puppies, Davidson captures the magic that is a little puppy shaking off after a bath. We are well aware of how hilarious photos of wet dogs can be, but these images are sure to leave you in stitches.

Shake Puppies is the second photo book Davidson has published featuring dogs shaking off water. The first featured adult pups.

Using a high-speed camera, Davidson was able to capture every second of adorableness that is puppies shaking.

You would think it would be easy to find puppy subjects, but Davidson set a strict set of guidelines for the puppies she features in her book.

Davidson refused to work with breeders who did not meet certain standards for animal care and welfare. She wanted to ensure that she was not encouraging puppy mills or irresponsible breeding in her work.

There are millions of healthy dogs just waiting to be adopted in shelters. Puppy mills only contribute to the issue of homeless pets by breeding and selling more dogs and discouraging guardians from looking for a new best friend in a shelter.

Davidson also had to navigate the sleep schedule of the puppies she features in this book. “When a puppy falls asleep you just have to wait and let that puppy dream,” she says.

There’s something so wonderfully off-balance about a little puppy shaking off in full-force.

Davidson explains, “I was drawn to the idea of surrounding myself with puppies … it was almost medicinal — spending the day overdosing on cuteness.” Oh, can we understand that!

The full collection features 61 puppies! We know what we’ll be doing this weekend … 

Davidson says for her next series she is going to focus on cats. Of course, she won’t be dousing them with water – because she doesn’t have a death wish – but, it is something for all the cat lovers to look forward to!
