If you want a pet that typically listens and treats you with respect and admiration … maybe choose one other than a cat. Cats don’t like taking orders from anyone, especially their moms and dads.
Though they provide great companionship and love, they often do so in their own way. Their intellect and attitude make their relationships a roller coaster of fun. It almost seems like cats choose to do the opposite of what we want in order to enjoy our reaction.
As is the case with this fluffy brat! He appears to enjoy his mom’s squirming as he systematically knocks everything in sight off of the counter. When he gets to a glass, his mom begs and pleads “no, no, no!”
This begging just fuels his enjoyment of breaking things. He stops to acknowledge his mom’s request and then slowly lifts a paw, places it on the glass and blatantly disobeys.
So, yes, if you want a companion who will dote on your every word … get a dog! If you are prepared for a companion who challenges you and enjoys doing things their way, welcome to the world of cats!
