Aplenty Rotini with Plant-Based Bolognese Meal Kit is being recalled after an allergen was found in the food that was not recognized on the label.

The Food and Drug Administration announced that it had found undeclared milk in the recipe for the plant-based bolognese meal kit. Seviroli Foods products containing milk were packaged with the Aplenty Rotini, making the plant-based label incorrect.

Not only is this a huge deal for vegans who may have been enjoying a product that they thought was vegan, but it is also incredibly dangerous for those who have dairy allergies or sensitivities. A dairy allergy can be very severe for some and can cause a life-threatening reaction.

This is not the first instance where a vegan product was revealed to contain animal ingredients. There have been multiple other companies that were found to either knowingly leave out certain details or accidentally mislabel their products.
