Sun Valley Foods has recalled its ready-to-eat (RTE) beef and chicken taquitos and chimichangas products containing diced green chilies due to traces of extraneous materials, specifically hard plastic, in the product.

The USDA warns that the hard plastic may pose a choking hazard or cause damage to teeth or gums.

The frozen RTE meat and poultry items were produced by Ajinomoto Foods North America, Inc. establishments in Lampasas, Texas, and San Diego, California. Some of the products are sold under brand names including Great Value, Casa Mamita and José Olé.

Ajinomoto Foods North America, Inc. found pieces of hard plastic in their production process and in a barrel of diced green chilies which was supplied by Sun Valley Foods. Sun Valley Foods initiated a recall of the green chilies and the subsequent recall of the RTE products.
