A man in Richland, Washington allegedly beat a tiny Chihuahua named Copper to death with a metal pipe after the dog barked and nipped at him in his own backyard. Copper, only 15 pounds and about a foot tall, was simply defending his home — yet he paid for it with his life. The man first left the yard, then returned moments later with a weapon and beat Copper until the dog collapsed. Copper died soon after at the vet.
He’s been charged with first-degree animal cruelty — but that’s not enough. Sign the petition now to urge Benton County prosecutors to recommend a lifetime ban on animal ownership and mandatory mental health counseling for this individual. These are essential steps to protect other animals from future harm. Copper deserves justice. Sign the petition now.
