Petition: Demand California Crack Down on Cruel Retailers Selling Kangaroo Leather

While most people know that cow skin is used for leather, many don’t realize that so is kangaroo skin. This industry is another extremely sad example of animal exploitation at the hands of humans. Millions of kangaroos are slaughtered every year., and while those in favor of killing kangaroos insist that they aren’t suffering needlessly, the reality is the majority of the hunting offers nothing but immense cruelty. Oftentimes, the hunter misses and the kangaroo is left in agonizing pain, sometimes for weeks, before dying. These kangaroos are ripped from the wild, and stolen from their families, all because companies want to make a profit.

Although California has banned the selling and importing of products made with kangaroo skin, Nike, Puma, and other companies have not complied with this ban. Kangaroos are Australia’s icon and one of the world’s most-loved species and they desperately need our help. Sign this petition to demand that California authorities finally crack down on cruel retailers selling kangaroo leather.
