Unfortunately, the world is not a very peaceful or safe place for many individuals. From conflict to abuse to exploitation, there is so much cruelty inflicted on both humans and animals. While this can get disheartening and difficult to hear, petitions are a great way to use your voice for good. Just by signing one, you are a part of helping those who are not treated fairly. You can even share them with friends and acquaintances to increase your impact.
Through petitions, we can reach those in power and demand justice for others. They are valuable tools for making positive changes in the world. If you are looking for a way to help animals and humans, here are six petitions you should sign this week, including Help Scale-Up the Production of Cholera Vaccines, Help End Bullfighting in Spain, and Tell States to Build More Affordable Housing.
We want to thank you for being the change you wish to see in the world and giving a voice to the voiceless.
Cholera is a deadly infection that spreads through dirty water and food, and it kills hundreds of thousands of people worldwide every single year – including young children.
And now, these infections – as well as the associated deaths – are on the rise. That could all be prevented, since there is a highly effective vaccine for cholera. But right now, there simply aren’t enough doses of the vaccine to go around.
Please sign this petition to urge the governments to partner with manufacturers and speed up the production of cholera vaccines!
Batches of apple juice that have been sold at American grocery stores like Target, Kroger, Publix, and Whole Foods are being recalled because the juice contains unsafe levels of arsenic, a highly toxic heavy metal.
Luckily, the company involved is taking steps to inform the public and stop the consumption of this dangerous product. But how did the situation even get this far?
In 2016, a significant portion of U.S. voters thought it was impossible that Donald Trump could win the Presidential Election and become the new head of state for the next four years. The media wasn’t particularly concerned, neighbors weren’t concerned, and the general public wasn’t all that concerned. It was impossible.
Until it wasn’t.
That’s why we’re asking you to pledge to take action now before it’s too late.
Please sign this pledge to encourage our friends and loved ones to all get involved and keep Trump out of the Oval Office!
A couple in Nevada hoarded almost 200 animals in their home, a hotel residence, and a car. Of those animals, 65 were already dead.
A freezer contained 42 dead animals, filled with the corpses of dogs, hamsters, tortoises, and guinea pigs. Two dozen animals remained alive on the property, but they were suffering from severe malnourishment and veterinary issues, standing in feces and without access to proper food and water.
Back at the hotel, the couple had collected another 75 animals – 12 of which were dead dogs.
In their car, authorities found 11 dead guinea pigs scattered among a larger collection of 40 live guinea pigs and rabbits.
Please sign this petition to demand an investigation into how this situation was ever allowed to occur!
A bullfighting management company in Seville, Spain is offering free tickets to children under eight to watch the sport – a vicious act where animals suffer and die for entertainment. This is an attempt to attract a younger audience during a time when the tradition is starting to die out, largely due to increasing criticism by animal lovers both in Spain and around the world.
Please sign this petition to demand that the local government in Seville finally outlaw bullfighting!
Homelessness in America is a critical issue, with over half a million people on any given night sleeping in the streets, cars, and other unsuitable conditions. This week, the United States Supreme Court will decide on a pivotal case that could lead to the criminalization of homelessness across the country. We must urge states with high unhoused populations to get ahead of this impending crisis and build affordable housing!
Please sign this petition to demand that California, New York, Florida, and Washington build more affordable housing!
